January 2012: Bands, Brew & BBQ – Orlando’s tribute to blue-collar food and fun – returns to SeaWorld Orlando Feb. 11 to March 4. If you don’t like country music, avoid lakeside on the northwest side of the park; if you like country, drink to excess, boot scoot, and call a taxi.
Bands perform only on weekends, but in addition to their Saturdays, SeaWorld expands shows to Sundays this year. While food costs extra, the entertainment is part of a regular admission price. Concerts start at 4 p.m.; seating is first-come, first-served.
Announced bands Saturday and Sunday this year, subject to change
Feb. 11: Foreigner
Feb. 12: Gary Allan
Feb. 18: Trace Adkins
Feb. 19: Kenny Rogers
Feb. 15: Doobie Brothers
Feb. 26: Ronnie Dunn
March 3: Sara Evans
March 4: Scotty McCreery
In addition, SeaWorld adds “side bands” this year – local groups who may not play as well but keep the dancing going when headline performers aren’t strumming.
A “brew”-licious Beer Sampler can get you started (their term), but a beer garden will offer up to 50 craft beers, both foreign and domestic. Guests can carry a beer around the party area and sometime farther if no one stops you.
SeaWorld also sells VIP tickets that can land you better seating at concerts and even face-to-face meetings with some of the entertainers.
Regular, single-day SeaWorld admission is $81.99 for adults and $73.99 for children ages 3-9. A Fun Card for that price – pay for one day and come back all year – is valid from the date of purchase and good throughout all of 2012 with no blackout dates.
